January 2012

2012 will start us out with Louis Lamour's Last of the Breed.  Alternate votes were cast for Captains Courageous, and Jason and the Argonaughts.
Chez Chadwick is the location, time and date TBD.

December 2011

December's choice is My Side of the Mountain.  Alternate choices were My Side of the Couch, My Side of the Bed, and My Side of the Car.  Treasure Island, and the Adventures of Tom Sawyer were also considered.
Chez Bailey is the location, Dec 18 the date.

November 2011

November's read will be a new experiment with an old classic: the club will read Sir Author Conan Doyle's Hound of the Baskervilles, and any 2 other Sherlock Holmes adventures of your own choosing.  The results should be, well, elementary!

October 2011

October's read is Tangerine, by Edward Boor.  Other options were The Underneath, and something so scary that no one wanted to vote for it.

School is back, and the first book of 6th grade will be Peak, by Roland Smith.  Hosted by William.

Beating out Among the Hidden (Haddix) and The Tiger Rising (DiCamillo) was Owen's offer of The Warrior Heir, by Cinda Williams Chima.

May 2011

May's choice comes from Aidan: When you Reach Me, by Rebecca Stead.  No luck on a this being a unanimous choice, as Masterpiece by Elise Broach fought hard but ended as the runner up.  Three Cups of Tea was in the running as well, but not for long.

The Wednesday Wars

A couple of kids from Ms Hoyt's class have read this one as part of literature circle, and is well worth a read!  It is a coming of age portrait of a 7th grade boy that is just as applicable to Dads as well.

April 2011

April's read comes from Bez: Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life.  It is our first unanimous choice!  Alternate titles were The Hobbit, and The Thief Lord.
And if we don't like it, we can blame Ben's sister...
